If your cat has been diagnosed with diabetes by one of our vets, then you’ll be invited to attend our diabetes clinic. This is to give you and your cat continuity of care and support throughout treatment.
What to expect at the clinic
We understand that having a cat diagnosed with diabetes can be overwhelming for some owners. You’ll have received a lot of information by your vet and, after having time to reflect on the diagnosis and the agreed treatment plan, you may have questions or concerns. These could be related to injecting insulin, taking blood sugar readings, treatment with Senvelgo, or checking for ketones. These are exactly the concerns you can raise with our nurses.
The nurse will also:
- Check your cat’s weight and body condition score
- Discuss your cat’s diet
- Ask questions on your cat’s mobility and demeanour
- Show you how to administer insulin and test for ketones and blood sugar

The clinic costs £30.

The diabetes clinic is only appropriate if your cat has been placed on treatment plan by one of our vets. If you think your cat is unwell then they must see a vet.
