About the Oxford Cat Clinic

A fiercely independent veterinary practice.

The Oxford Cat Clinic was established in 2006 with one vision in mind – to put cats and their owners at the heart of a veterinary practice, catering for cats and cats only.

The Clinic boasts a team of dedicated feline veterinary surgeons and nursing professionals who work together to provide the highest quality surgical and medical care for cats.

Our Vision

Our vision is to partner with you, as a dedicated cat owner, to provide tailored, affordable medical care for each member of your feline family throughout their lifetime.

What does this mean? We know, from experience, that no two cats are the same and, that no two owners are either. As a fully independent practice our clinical team is at liberty to tailor individual treatment plans – both preventative and at times of crisis – to the patient and their owners’ individual circumstances. The right treatment plan for your cat is one that you are confident and comfortable with, both from a “can I actually do this?” point of view and from an affordability perspective. This type of treatment plan is what we consider to be gold standard. The most expensive and most invasive procedure is not always the best for your cat or for you.

Cost Transparency

The Oxford Cat Clinic offers a medical service for your cat. Please be aware that this service is a charged for service. Costs are incurred whenever you interact with a member of our clinical team, for certain administrative tasks and, of course for any medication prescribed. We will not shy away from speaking to you about the cost of veterinary treatment. Treatment plans are tailored to suit your affordability and/or level of insurance cover you have available.

Why Cat Only?

Your cat can relax in an environment in which they feel happy, content and not threatened by strange smells and noises often found in mixed practice.

Should your cat need to stay in our hospital, a cat only calm environment reduces anxiety and aids your pet’s recovery.

Because we concentrate specifically on feline medicine, we can ensure that our time, attention and skills are focused entirely on your cat’s well-being.

All our vets and nurses are professionally qualified and experienced, and all share a passion for cats and their welfare.

Cats seem to know when they are with “cat people”, and our sympathetic handling encourages our patients to become much less apprehensive while being examined.

We find this special environment allows your cat to relax, making them much more amenable to treatment. We hope that when you first visit with your cat you notice the difference too and that this makes your visit to the vet much less stressful too!

Old-fashioned values meet the best in veterinary treatment and care

We are huge advocates for preventative health care. And while we are known for our expert clinical care for all kinds of feline illnesses and conditions, we prefer to test and treat early to avoid heartache and high bills later on. We run a variety of clinics for specific medical conditions and, depending on your cat’s age, will recommend testing to ensure all is well.

Between us we have a lifelong love of cats which we want to share with you. Many of our team have extra qualifications in small animal medicine or feline behaviour. Martha is an accredited Specialist in Feline Medicine and Fellow of the Royal College of Veterianry Surgeons. To be recognised as a Specialist by the Royal College, an individual must have achieved a postgraduate qualification and make an active contribution to their Specialist area.

Caroline is an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine. This means they hold an advanced qualification that demonstrates their knowledge and experience beyond their initial veterinary degree. With this background our vets are regularly asked to write about or deliver talks to owners and professionals on the subject of cats.
